notes:


1. geta: wooden Japanese clogs. They make clear resonant sound.

2. O-Hatsu and Tokubei: heroine and hero of the drama titled "Double
suicide in Sonezaki" written by Monzaemon Chikamatsu in 1703. Hatsu was a
prostitute and Tokubei an employee of a sauce dealer.

3. chazuke: boiled rice with tea poured over it. Typical simple and
light meal for Japanese.

5. eulalia: obana grass, also called "horsetail"; eulalia is a scholarly name.

4. This kasen was proo-fread by Kris Kondo.
