| "ball
moss" or "bunch moss"
Ball moss, also known as bunch moss, is an epiphyte native to Florida. It can be seen growing on bark, branches and even chain link fences. Ball moss is grayish green with a bunch-like growth habit and short, branched stems. Flowers are blue and borne on the ends of 3- to 4-inch stalks. Epiphytes grow above the ground surface, using other plants or objects for support. They do not root in soil nor are they parasitic. |
