Cabin Fever
Gene Williamson
Galloway New Jersey, US
Outside, the night is crisp and biting, and moon shadows play on the pines
bending under a two-day accumulation of wet snow. Inside, the cabin logs pop and
spit as two old friends swap drinks and tall tales. One, sipping his gin, says
he plans to write a play about two middle-aged professors who challenge their
friendship by falling in love with the same student. The other pours himself a
scotch and reads from his poem about the lies we tell, the songs we sing, the
games we play.
