News - MIFA 10th Anniversary
Book for 2004 |
MIFA International Haiku Circle
Yasuomi Koganei
MIFA International Haiku Circle
was organized and hosted by Meguro International Friendship Association (MIFA)
as an activity designed to enhance mutual understanding between Japanese and
foreigners staying in Japan. The circle was steered by MIFA and a volunteer
group, including the haiku meeting proponents to MIFA. The circle had its first
haiku meeting on February 18, 1995 and published a book of haiku on July 31,1999
to celebrate its 5th anniversary.
From the April 2002 meeting, the circle has been steered by a volunteer group
only and will publish a haiku book to celebrate its 10th anniversary in July
2004. The book will probably include most all haiku submitted to the meetings
from July 1999 to May (or June) 2004.
We are willing to invite haiku enthusiasts living out side Japan to our haiku
meeting. Interested parties, please submit your haiku to Mr. Yasuomi Koganei by
e-mail at:
