haiku illustration

Ashe Wood, Exeter, UK - Art Haiku

Comment by Roderick Stewart: The graphic reflects the oneness of the poet's experience and her acceptance of all things. Textured blue background adds a sense of depth and ties the moon into this sense of oneness. Non-textured clover overlapping the circle gives a good framing balance to the poet's name and helps ground the image. It also adds another visual layer to the image. This softer looking clover might also suggest the poet's acceptance of what society views as unwelcome coarseness. Fine example of illustrative art-haiku. Though the text placement, on first reading, tends to impede the haiku's "one breath," particularly important considering the theme of the haiku.
