There are three separate sections in our BOOK NEWS area. Each has a particular purpose and they should, therefore, not be confused or overlap. These three section are: 1) BOOK REVIEWS 2) PUBLICATION NEWS, and 3) BOOKMART

SUBMISSIONS FOR BOOK REVIEWS & PUBLICATION NEWS:


1. WHO CAN SUBMIT:  Submissions are open world-wide to readers of the World Haiku Review online

2. WHAT IS BOOK REVIEWS? World Haiku Review's section for critical Book Reviews
of interest to poets of haiku and related genres.

3. WHAT IS PUBLICATION NEWS? World Haiku Review's section for introducing new journals, magazines, books and products of interest to poets of haiku and related genres.

3. WHO CAN SUBMIT:  Submissions are open world-wide to readers of the World Haiku Review online.

4. WHAT KINDS OF REVIEWS ARE INVITED:

  • Critical reviews of books relevant to poets of haiku and related genres are invited for our BOOK REVIEWS section
     

  • Review articles introducing new journals, magazines, books and commercially available toys or games relevant to poets of haiku and related genres are also invited for PUBLICATION NEWS section

5. Reviews and articles must be the original authorship of the contributor who submits the manuscript(s).

6. There is no limit on length of book reviews and related articles.

7. For books, please include the following format for publication and purchase information with your manuscript(s):


Title/ Author/ Publisher/ Place of Publication/ Date of Publication/ Any other pertinent information/ Price in US$ (including or excluding P & P = postage and packing), in other currencies (ditto)/ [where a copy can be obtained, e.g. author, publisher, retailers etc.]

Example:  Pilgrim Foxes - Haiku & Haiku Prose, by Ken Jones, James Norton & Sean O'Connor, Pilgrim Press, Ireland, 2001 [From Pilgrim Press, Troed Rhiw Sebon, Cwmrheidol, Aberysywyth SY23-3NB, Wales, US$ 11, £ 6 for mail-order and within Republic of Ireland orders to James Norton, 11 North Terrace, Inchicore, Dublin 8, IR£ 7. 60]

8. Submissions in non-English languages must be accompanied by good English translation, which will be used for selection purposes.

9. Single-space main body of text unless special formatting is required.

10. Please use HTML formatted e-mail (not "Plain Text" or MS Word format). Please type your text, poems and manuscripts directly onto the body of the e-mail; do not copy and paste your text into the e-mail from a word-processing document.

11. Send submissions in the main body of the e-mail, not as an attached file.

2. WHAT IS BOOKMART?: BookMart is a page in World Haiku Review where WHC members and readers may seek to advertise and market books written by themselves or by others. The books must be of interest to poets of haiku and related genres. We publish the book information on a bona-fide and neutral basis and this does not constitute our recommendation. It is intended to help the genuine wish of haiku poets in their earnest effort to have their poems read by others.

3. Please use the following format as follows for the printing purposes and uniformity:

Title/ Author/ Publisher/ Place of Publication/ Date of Publication/ Any other pertinent information/ Price in US$ (including or excluding P & P =postage and packing), in other currencies (ditto)/ [where a copy can be obtained, e.g. author, publisher, retailers etc.]
