WORLD HAIKU NEWS (...FROM AROUND THE WORLD) and WHC (FROM THE WORLD HAIKU CLUB ) NEWS SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES



1. WHO CAN SUBMIT:  Submissions are open world-wide to readers of the World Haiku Review online

2. WHAT IS HAIKU NEWS and WHC NEWS: The "Haiku News" column presents World Haiku News and WHC News. These two sections under the one news column are given to news reports of events, activities and other items of relevance to poets of haiku and related genres. "WORLD HAIKU NEWS" encompasses overall news from around the world; WHC NEWS is news specifically related to the World Haiku Club and its activities.

3. There is no limitation on the length of news reports at this time.

4. Poetry and quotations included in any report or article must be cleared with the respective authors and speakers for permission to publish.

5. Several .jpg format photographs (Size: 500 pixels or less; Resolution: 72 dpi) may be included for consideration.

6. Please see the WORLD HAIKU NEWS and WHC NEWS section in World Haiku Review past issues (Example:

7. Please use HTML formatted e-mail (not "Plain Text" or MS Word format). Please type your text, poems and manuscripts directly onto the body of the e-mail; do not copy and paste your text into the e-mail from a word-processing document.

8. Single-space main body of text except where special formatting is required.

9. Send submissions in the main body of the e-mail, not as an attached file.

10. SUBJECT FIELD OF EMAIL for HAIKU NEWS SECTION: "HAIKU NEWS Submission for World Haiku Review"

SUBMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE TO ALL SECTORS:


BIO: At this time, biographies are not being published in World Haiku Review except when necessary.

DEADLINE : To be sent by e-mail as soon as possible as "ongoing selection system" will be employed and not later than the deadlines given.

AWARDS & RIGHTS: No awards. By submitting your works, it will be assumed that you have cleared all questions of copyrights and that you agree to have these works, if selected, to be published in World Haiku Review and in any related official documents such as announcement or publicity. 
All copyrights revert to the author upon publication, however we reserve the right to republish (in hard copy format) items from the web site in the future.

NOTIFICATION & CORRESPONDENCE: Through our Notifications Editor, we will attempt to contact members to notify of accepted works, only, however, this service is not guaranteed.

Poetry and essays in languages other than English are welcome when accompanied by a translation in English, and which will be used for selection purposes.

We will set high criteria for the selection but no favour nor prejudice according to any specific school of thought. Quality is what matters most.

Readers may find specific instructions for submissions within the various poetry columns of the World Haiku Review.

Calls for submission are issued on WHCnewsletter and individual WHC mailing lists. Essays on haiku and related forms may be sent by non-members at any time during the year to the Essays Editor, Susumu Takiguchi at: susumu dot takiguchi at btinternet dot com
