WHCfrench—A NEW BILINGUAL FRENCH/ENGLISH HAIKU FORUM

The World Haiku Club is pleased to announce the creation of WHCfrench. This follows WHC's other bi-lingual fora: Spanish/English, German/English, Japanese/English, Russian/English, Italian/English, Dutch/English and Portuguese/English. WHC encourages different languages and cultures in addition to English. Haiku in French is a distinct and growing part of the world haiku movement supported by the beauty of the language and is a welcome addition to the poetic theatre of WHC.

As of August 12, 2005, WHCfrench will be led by three moderators: Daniel Py (France), Gilles Fabre (Ireland), Richard Vallance (Canada), and supported by leading French-language haiku poets including Andre Duhaime and Serge Tome.

The aims of WHCfrench are summarised in the description of the forum written in French (Serge Tome) and in English:

WHCfrench is a bi-lingual French/English haiku forum of the World Haiku Club and designed for the study, enjoyment and sharing of haiku in French, not only among native-speakers of French across the world, but also all those who wish to study and enjoy haiku in French whatever the stage of their knowledge of French. WHCfrench also aims at providing a two-way bridge between the world of French haiku and the rest of the world haiku community.

As WHCfrench is bi-lingual, members are requested to post their poems and/or comments with English tranlations.

Please spread the word and get more people to become members of WHCfrench.
