WINDBLOWN.............
An Anaphoric Rengay*
by hortensia anderson  & Carole MacRury

a web of shadows
through tangled branches—
golden light

a black crow sidles
away from its shadow

white curtains flutter
the caw of the crow
fading in flight

paper white poppy—
windblown petals
curl into themselves

a love letter from afar
the curl of her serifs

at the summit
from afar a star brighter
than the half-moon

*anaphoric rengay: one word from the previous stanza is repeated in the next stanza
