WHCjapan HAIKU, POETRY and ESSAY SUBMISSIONS
1. WHO CAN SUBMIT: Submissions are open world-wide to readers of the World Haiku
Review online
2. There is no limit on number of poetry submissions at this time.
3. ACCEPTED GENRES: We are primarily interested in haiku (single,
sequences and series are also accepted); Japanese poetic genres such as tanka,
renga, renku, haibun and senryu are accepted; Poetry derived from Japanese and
Asian genres are acceptable: haiku or tanka analogue, new linked forms, rengay,
etc.
4. Separate each group of poetry by genre, preceded by the title of the genre
(Example: HAIKU, TANKA, RENGAY, etc).
5. ESSAYS, ARTICLES and NEWS: Poets may submit 1 new, original essay per issue
on topics of interest to poets of haiku and related poetry. Articles and news of
interest to poets of haiku and related poetry may also be submitted. Single
space main body of manuscript texts except where other formatting is
necessary. Send manuscripts separately. (BOOK REVIEWS & PUBLICATION NEWS
MUST BE SENT SEPARATELY TO SUSUMU TAKIGUCHI)
6. All works in Japanese language must be accompanied by good English
translation, which will be used for selection purposes.
7. Include your name (and nom de plume, if applicable); Surname in capital
letters (EX: John BUNYON; Sara Elizabeth JAMES; SUZUKI Tatsuo, Susumu TAKIGUCHI;
Include your state or province, and country of
residence (if more than one, please include all).
Include your e-mail address.
8. Single-space poems unless special formatting is
required.
9. Please use HTML formatted e-mail (not "Plain
Text" or MS Word format). Please type your text, poems and manuscripts directly
onto the body of the e-mail; do not copy and paste your text into the e-mail
from a word-processing document.
10. Send submissions in the main body of the e-mail, not as an attached file.
