WORLD HAIKU REVIEW

1. WHO CAN SUBMIT: Submissions are open world-wide to readers of the World Haiku
Review online.
2. SUBMISSIONS: Poets may submit up to 3 # poems in each genre:
4. ACCEPTED GENRES:
(a.) Japanese genres such as tanka, sedoka, mondo, dodoitsu, etc.
(b) Western forms derived from Japanese and Asian genres; Examples: American
cinquain, gembun, solo new-forms, etc.
(c) Experimental and Free Verse inspired by Japanese poetry genres. Free Verse
and Western Poetry to share with eastern poets. This is the communion that bonds
the WHCpoetrybridge group. (Please contact Editor if you wish to submit haiga /
art combined with genres accepted as WHCpoetrybridge submissions.)
(Note: Collaborative poetry, i.e., poems written by more than one poet should be
sent to Paul Conneally at
WHCcollaborativeverse) An exception to this would be WHCpoetrybridge group
projects (members), which may be displayed in a Special Section.
5. Separate genres and categorize poems by genre title in the body of the e-mail
(Example: "TANKA" #1, #2, #3; "CINQUAIN" #1, #2, etc.)
4. ESSAYS, ARTICLES and NEWS. Essays as related to genres explored in
WHCpoetrybridge may be submitted: Examples: Tanka, Cinquain and other analogues
related to haiku and tanka, multi-genre works, fusion of Eastern and Western
poetry. 1 essay per author. There is no limitation on essay length at this time.
Articles and news of interest to poets who work in both Asian and Western genres
may also be submitted. For essay submissions, include your brief biography,
footnotes, and an introduction to yourself and your work as related to poetry.

5. Include your name (and nom de plume, if
applicable);
Include your state or province, and country of
residence (if more than one, please include all)'
Include your email address.
6. Works in non-English languages must be
accompanied by good English translation, which will be used for selection
purposes.
7. Single-space poems unless special formatting is required.
8. Please use HTML formatted e-mail (not "Plain Text" or MS
Word format). Please type your text, poems and manuscripts directly onto the
body of the e-mail; do not copy and paste your text into the
e-mail from a word-processing document.
9. Send submissions in the main body of the e-mail, not as an
attached file (exception: .jpg/.jpeg images for haiga, or used in a feature may
be sent as an attachment),
10. SUBJECT FIELD of EMAIL for WHCHPOETRYBRIDGE: "WHCpoetrybridge Submission
for World Haiku Review"
